This film tells the story of a group of brave women who took part in a little-known but significant chapter of North and South American history. From 1869 to 1898, 65 women from Boston were hired by the Argentine government to train native-born teachers and establish standardized public schools in the interior of the country. The success of Argentina's educational system is due in large part to these women. OTHER VOICES, OTHER YEARS brings to light their stories without leaving aside the many challenges these Protestant women--many of whom did not speak Spanish--faced upon arriving to some of the most conservative Argentine provinces.
