We are emphasizing "celebration,” and it’s spring--happy attire welcome!
Do you play the guitar? Did you ever? Even just a little? Mom taught folk guitar from beginners on up, and I'd love to get a bunch of us (I'm a perpetual advanced beginner and will take as much help as I can get) playing some EASY classics from her songbook for all to sing along with. If you can contribute support strumming, let me know: [email protected]. I'll distribute materials in advance, maybe even a video, and anyone on the fence can make decisions accordingly. This is about participation, not perfection. :-)
Mom loved a party and we hope that the reception will be a time of reconnection for some of our circles of friends. We plan to have hors d'oeuvres at 4 and then dinner fare for those who can linger, with beer, wine, and non-alcoholic tasty beverages throughout.
The church is 1/3 mile from the Old Greenwich train station (1:05 every half hour on the :05 and :36 from Grand Central--note that Old Greenwich is three short stops after Greenwich). TRAIN SCHEDULE. If you'd like to spend a little time in OG, quaint town is south of the tracks, and lovely Binney Park is opposite the church--all easily walkable.
